Zayda Sumner is a recent graduate of the University of South Carolina. During her time at USC, she double-majored in Media Arts and Art Studio and practiced the skills she learned there as the Media Producer of the Carolina Flight Club. In the time she has between academics and digital commissions, she creates content of her original characters and develops the outlines of her original narratives.
In her early youth, Zayda found comfort in becoming a part of the world of cartoons she enjoyed. Whether it was kicking it back with the ninja turtles or fighting evil with the Incredibles, Zayda loved immersing herself in the animated worlds of her childhood. So much so, that as she grew up, she decided she would play a part in providing that escape to other kids who may be going through similar things that she did.
Now, as she navigates the many creative paths open to her, she experiments with different mediums and techniques found in animation, film, and comics. Zayda practices character design, storytelling, and sequential art, as she remembers the excitement, anticipation, and heartache that a well-composed story can evoke from an audience. Her goal is to become a part of the animation pipeline to bring these immersive feelings to an audience of her own one day.
